Description:
SUMMARY:
The Stock Clerk is responsible for receiving and processing all new merchandise shipments, and for the general upkeep of the store stockroom’s cleanliness, organization and appearance.
As a Stock Clerk, your main responsibilities will include:
- Receiving and processing all merchandise and supply shipments;
- Processing transfers of product, both incoming and outgoing, by following company administrative (data entry) procedures;
- With the Store Manager’s guidance - directing, executing and completing product replenishment on the sales floor;
- Preparing product for visual merchandising execution on the sales floor;
- Maintaining a clean and organized back room and store;
- Following store opening and/or closing procedures;
- Conducting inventory counts as required;
- Assisting with associate training and development;
- Acting as a Health & Safety advocate through training of associates, working safely, completing a monthly store H&S workplace inspection;
- Complying with all company and store policies and procedures;
- Performing merchandising, cash and/or customer service duties as directed.
Experience and Skills:
- Previous experience as a retail stock clerk is an asset;
- Previous visual merchandising experience is a strong asset;
- Friendly demeanor and strong customer focus;
- High school diploma;
- Working knowledge of computers;
- High energy, enthusiastic team player;
- Excellent time management and organizational skills;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to move and handle boxes of merchandise for long periods of time, weighing up to 60lbs
- Ability to move and replace fixtures, shelves and hardware throughout the store
- Comfortable with the frequent use of ladders
- Capacity to stand for long period
