Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Stoma Care as Receptionist and Administrator. We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly team member to provide a high quality reception and administration function and as such, will need to be able to communicate well with patients and their relatives, the general public and a wide range of multi-professional staff, internal and external to the Trust.
This can be a busy role and the post holder will need to manage competing demands, whilst ensuring the need to provide a sensitive, mature and compassionate service to patients/relatives accessing the service.

To provide the administration and reception role within the Stoma Care dept at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust (SFT). To assist with the effective throughput of patients within the department and always maintain the highest standard of care. As the receptionist for the service, the post holder will be the initial point of face-to-face contact for service users and staff external to the department. They will take incoming calls in to the service and signpost and direct patients accordingly.
The reception role will undertake identity checks on patients attending and be involved in taking payments from patients when necessary. The post holder will be working with medical, nursing and administration staff, directly involved with the care of patients.
The post holder will also be responsible for information gathering and inputting into patient records via the computer systems.
They will be involved in ordering stock for patients from suppliers as well as contacting pharmaceutical companies with orders.
