Job Title: Minimart Cashier cum Store Assistant
Department: Retail Operations
Reports To: Store Manager/Assistant Store Manager
Summary:
The Minimart Cashier cum Store Assistant is a vital role, responsible for providing excellent customer service, operating the cash register, and assisting with various store operations to ensure a smooth and efficient shopping experience. This position requires a friendly and helpful demeanor, accuracy in handling transactions, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
* Customer Service:
* Greet customers with a warm and friendly attitude.
* Assist customers in locating products and answering their inquiries.
* Handle customer complaints and resolve issues efficiently.
* Provide excellent service to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
* Cash Handling:
* Operate the cash register accurately and efficiently.
* Process cash, credit/debit card, and mobile payments.
* Handle cash transactions with integrity and maintain proper cash handling procedures.
* Reconcile cash drawer at the end of each shift.
* Store Operations:
* Stock and replenish shelves with merchandise, ensuring proper rotation and display.
* Maintain store cleanliness and organization, including shelves, aisles, and checkout areas.
* Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries, verifying quantities and reporting any discrepancies.
* Price and label merchandise accurately.
* Monitor inventory levels and inform the store manager of any shortages or discrepancies.
* Assist with store opening and closing procedures.
* Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
* Other Duties:
* Perform other duties as assigned by the store manager or assistant store manager.
Qualifications:
* Minimum PSLE education.
* Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred but not required.
* Basic math and cash handling skills.
* Friendly, outgoing, and customer-oriented personality.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
* Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
