Job Description: Thrift Store Clerk
Department of Functional Area: Super Thrift Store
Reports To: Store Manager
Primary Purpose: Provide service to customers and clients, sort and price incoming merchandise and assist the management in all store operations as required. Contribute to meeting store sales and goals and maintaining excellent customer service, ensuring stock is rotated in a timely fashion. Ensure donations are received, sorted and stored safely and courteously.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proactively demonstrate and maintain excellent working relationships with the Store Manager, Thrift employees, ATCCC Students and all volunteers.
  • Working knowledge of Infotouch software and Mac & PC operating systems
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Outgoing and Friendly Personality
  • Bonus having your valid class 5 driver’s licence
  • Able to lift 20lbs

    Expected hours: No more than 27 per week

Responsibilities:

  • Cashier duties when required ensuring transactions are accurate and procedures followed
  • Greet customers and donors in a friendly manner and provide good customer service. Answer the phone politely and professionally.
  • Assist in keeping the store tidy, clean, organized and stocked with merchandise. Put new merchandise on the sales floor in the designated areas and assist on the sales floor as needed.
  • Unload donations, ability to lift up to 20lbs and store them properly according to Super Thrift procedures. Sort donations according to Super Thrift procedures.
  • Receive Donations, thank and offer store coupons with every donation
  • Prepare merchandise for sale according to Super Thrift procedures. Price items according to quality and value using Super Thrift guidelines and training. Meeting daily production goals.
  • Housekeeping duties within all store areas as required
  • Follow the schedule laid out by the Store Manager
  • Participate in leadership and on-job training as required
  • Participate in morning meetings as well as staff meetings
