Description:

Company Description
Bring your passion for Store Development and help shape the future of our brands!
The Warehouse Group looks after some of Aotearoa’s iconic brands - The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery, and Noel Leeming. Our purpose at The Warehouse Group (TWG) is ‘Helping Kiwis live better every day” and this guides how we show up every day. We have recently embraced a brand-led model, ensuring we remain laser-focused on our customers and markets specific to them. Retail is more competitive than ever, and we need to bring our A game!
Job Description
Reporting to the Store Development and Design Lead, you will play a key part in improving the store design and customer environment through planning and detailing retail layouts for all 3 of our brands – The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery and Noel Leeming
In this role, you will be responsible for the ‘doing’ of the retail environment. You will be the expert in implementing retail environment plans and projects and will work to deliver these projects, anything from dropping a rack to supporting specific category works (for example our Apparel reset at The Warehouse) to launching a new store. You will work to ensure costs, quality and scope of work is managed closely by working with both internal and external stakeholders.

Your Role:

  • Delivering new stores, refits and category works across our 3 brands
  • Management of store builds and category project development and delivery
  • Improving the customer environment & experience by understanding trends and gathering customer feedback
  • Planning and supporting the delivery of new retail layouts based on merchandise requirements & ideal customer journey

Qualifications
We would love to hear from anyone with previous project management experience, preferably in retail. Perhaps you are currently a Store Manager who has direct involvement with new store openings and refits or an experienced Project Manager that has a focus within the retail sector. With no two store layouts the same, we need someone who has excellent problem solving skills and the ability to use creative thinking with a commercial and analytical mind-set. You will also be able to manage multiple priorities & deliver projects on time and within budget.

Our wish list also includes:

  • Understanding of NZ building fitout compliance, ideally in a retail context
  • Understanding of visual merchandising principles
  • Experience in managing 3rd party contractors
  • Experience in project management of retail projects from end to end

Our structure and ways of working will see you extensively work cross functionally hence your collaboration skills will be top notch, coupled with the customer centric lense and approach you bring to work everyday. You are someone responsive, adaptable and has a continuous improvement approach towards what you do. You will have a test and learn mindset and hold an openness to new ideas and a desire to develop them together with others.
We acknowledge that not all candidates will be able to tick off all of the above, so on that basis, if you have the right mindset and are genuinely passionate about retail and store development we would still love to hear from you.
