Description:
Job Overview:
The Storeman is responsible for managing and organizing stock within the department, ensuring accurate stock control, rotation, and storage. This role requires working closely with the goods-in team, keeping the store area clean and organized, and occasionally assisting with loading, unloading, and stock collection from other sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of organizing and managing all stock delivered to the department.
- Ensure stock is rotated properly, with older stock used first to reduce waste.
Liaising with Goods-In Team:
Communicate daily with the goods-in team to stay updated on incoming stock for the department.
Plan and prepare for upcoming deliveries to ensure smooth handling and storage.
Responsibilities:
DRIVING DUTIES:
Occasionally travel to the Hub site to collect ingredients or materials as required (vehicle provided by the company).
Ensure safe driving and timely collection of items when performing these duties.
Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse, stock management, or Storeman role preferred.
Physical Ability: Ability to handle heavy items and perform physical tasks, including lifting, loading, and operating machinery.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage stock, maintain a clean store area, and ensure efficient rotation of goods.
Communication Skills: Ability to liaise effectively with the goods-in team and other departments, ensuring clear communication regarding stock and deliveries.
Forklift Certification: Certification in forklift operations preferred (training will be provided if not certified).
Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is required for occasional trips to collect ingredients or materials from other locations.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate stock counts and correct placement of goods.
