Description:

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Provides support and assistance to the Central Stores Supervisor
  • Assists in the day to day activities related to the Culinary Services storekeeping operations.
  • Properly handles, stores and issues stock to internal departments as outlined in production sheets and location product requisitions
  • Assists in preparing lists of stock items required based on par stock levels and as directed by production sheets and catering contracts
  • Ensures proper rotation of stock (first in/first out)
  • Properly handles, stores and issues stock to internal departments as outlined in production sheets and location product requisitions
  • Assists in ensuring proper communication to ensure appropriate inventory levels of regular stock
  • Arranges and rearranges stock as required for efficient service and minimum handling ensuring proper rotation and storage (first in/first out)
  • Handles and stores all products in accordance to Public Health Food Safety regulations
  • Ensures cleaning product, chemical, and hazardous materials are handled and stored in accordance to WHIMMIS and Workplace Safety
  • Assists with the shipping and transfer of items from central stores to satellite retail locations as requisitioned.
  • Assists with counting monthly inventory
  • Ensures cleanliness and organization of stockroom and storage areas including fridges, freezers and dry storage areas
  • Works cooperatively with other staff to ensure seamless customer service. This includes but is not limited to covering sick and vacation time
  • Assists in ensuring external clients and visitors are received and are directed to their destination and/or point of contact
  • May occasionally be required to assist truck drivers and utility person(s) during peak times
  • Maintains productive and professional relationships internal and external business partners and stakeholders
  • Assists in the Dish room as needed
  • Assists with general kitchen cleaning and maintenance

  • In the absence of the Receiver, this position will be required to assist with the receiving function of accepting product and orders

EDUCATION:

The incumbent requires a Grade 12
Food Safe Certificate is required
WHIMIS Certificate is required

EXPERIENCE:

The incumbent requires a minimum 2 year of food service experience working in a roles with responsibilities of proper food handling, stock rotation, and work place organization and cleanliness.

Salary: The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $16.35 - 19.61 per hour. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

Responsibilities:

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Storeroom Associate supports the Culinary Central Stores Supervisor by assisting in the daily operations of the central stores and shipping/receiving area ensuring established procedures are consistently applied. Assists in putting away and handling stock ensuring proper storage and rotation of perishable and non-perishable food products, equipment small wares, and operational supplies. Assists with the distribution of products from central stores to assigned storage areas, kitchen departments, and satellite locations.
