As Strategic Account Manager, reporting to the Italian Strategic and International Accounts Commercial Leader, you will devise appropriate strategies to grow existing accounts and win new customers (60-70% new business focus). This will entail understanding the voice of the customer, internal & external stakeholder partnering, and undertaking competitor and market analysis.
Since the role is focused on visiting customers across Umbria, Marche, Lazio & Abruzzo, it would be be useful if you are already based in one of these regions.

THE ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB INCLUDE:

  • New business sales-hunting focused Strategic Account Manager, ideally with experience in Multinational Corporations selling into FMCG/manufacturing environments (i.e. food & beverages packaging, automation equipment etc)
  • High self-motivation, analytical, attention to detail, excellent problem solving, planning & organizing skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including advanced/fluent English
  • Technical understanding of manufacturing automation (i.e. packaging machinery etc) or a mechanical/electrical engineering background would be useful but isn’t critical as training can be provided
  • Used to working in a fast-paced, KPI-focused environment with use of CRM (SFDC etc)
  • Flexible to travel across a large territory and be away from home 3-4 nights a week
    You’ll travel 3-4 days a week across Italy to visit existing & potential FMCG/large manufacturing customers, understand their requirements, propose solutions at all levels (including equipment, finance and service agreements) and ensure the execution of the entire sales cycle to the highest standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Support International and Strategic customers / prospects understanding their needs and helping them on the resolution becoming a trusted advisor and partner
  • Commercial responsibility for growth and expansion of direct sales with some pre-selected accounts
  • Seek for potential opportunities in the market, working closely with the other Sales team members
  • Collaborate and work closely with internal teams
  • Ensure fast response to external and internal customers
