We are looking for a Strategic Buyer Mechanical, focusing on Metals, Plastics, Connectors, Cables & Wires, who will be responsible for managing European supply base. You will be part of the Mechanical Commodity Team Europe and will be based in Poland (Kętrzyn or Piła). You will be responsible for managing strategic supplier and shaping the commodity strategy for your portfolio together with the Commodity Manager. You will be part of a diverse team across Europe, located in our different Signify locations.
The main responsibilities for this role are managing assigned suppliers, shaping the right supply base and strategy. We are looking for a strong communicator and negotiator, that is passionate to get the best deals for Signify.
Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Ensure a best-class supplier management (supplier development, business review, commercial negotiation, contracting and risk management) for the relevant assigned commodity portfolio;
- Proactively ensure long term capacity and availability, pro-actively manages and mitigates supplier risks including liability management.
- Supports in defining procurement strategies based on business requirements for the relevant assigned commodity portfolio, translating business needs into procurement strategy;
- Manages supplier potential in terms of technology roadmap and capability matrix for the relevant assigned suppliers
- Lead standardization process for a maximum supplier leverage
- Support the sustainability roadmap and activities.
- Prepare the market intelligence report and share with our internal stakeholders.
- Prepare demand and pricing forecasting to define cost roadmap for our sales organization.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE
- Master’s degree in Business administration or engineering degree in mechanical area.
- Min. 2+ years of relevant working experience, preferably in an industrial environment
- Good influencing and negotiation skills, a problem solver with a strategic mindset
- Knowledge of procurement processes and tools
- Good communication skills both in Polish and English
- Advanced skills with excel and office software.
