Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for a temporary full time, exempt Strategic Coordinator to join the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer until approximately November 2026
REQUIREMENTS
This position requires significant experience with public policy work and excellent research and writing skills. Strong leadership skills, project management, and critical thinking skills are required with the ability to direct work, influence, facilitate, and interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
The Strategic Coordinator has exceptional attention to detail, strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiples priorities and effectively manage their time. A high degree of integrity, insight, and the ability to effectively manage confidential information is also a must. A Masters Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science or relevant discipline, with at least 3 years’ related senior administrative, research, analytical or equivalent relevant experience is required. Experience working in a local government environment would be an asset.
During the recruitment process, applicants will be requested to provide a current Police Information Check (PIC).
Responsibilities:
This integral position will provide strategic support to the Chief Administrative Officer; managing multiple priorities at a time to ensure City initiatives are implemented efficiently, effectively and in line with Council’s Strategic Plan and Organizational Priorities.
The Strategic Coordinator will work with the City Leadership team to connect work teams and divisions to ensure the successful implementation of interdepartmental projects; overseeing and monitoring progress towards meeting goals, achieving milestones and ensuring follow-through for City initiatives. This position will perform research and compile data on public policy and strategic priorities to inform decisions, and proactively identify and manage complex issues. In addition, the position reviews City processes and recommends solutions aimed at ensuring optimal efficiency within the organization
