Reporting to the Provost & Vice-President and working closely with the Deans and the Registrar, the Strategic Enrolment Management (SEM) Officer will support student enrolment management through the coordination of recruitment and retention initiatives, communications and marketing strategies, and community engagement within CUE. This work will complete and enhance institutional goals related to recruitment and retention by leading the creation of a SEM strategic plan.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum education requirements include an undergraduate or graduate program in a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of demonstrated experience in engaging internal and external stakeholders and developing and implementing strategic enrolment management strategies and practices.
- Knowledge and understanding of recruitment or enrolment management positions at a post-secondary institution.
- Working understanding of project management and reporting systems/processes.
- This role requires strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Satisfactory Criminal Records Check results

Responsibilities:
- Development and Implementation of CUE’s SEM Plan
- Lead the creation, development and implementation of a comprehensive Strategic Enrolment Management Plan aligned with CUE’s goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with CUE leaders and departments to identify key enrolment goals, targets, and strategies.
- Data Analysis and Reporting
- Work with the IRPD office to collect, analyze, and interpret enrolment data, trends, and metrics to inform strategic planning and decision-making.
- Generate detailed reports and dashboards to track progress toward enrolment targets and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with academic departments, student services, marketing, and recruitment teams to align enrolment strategies across CUE.
- Act as a liaison between departments, fostering communication and collaboration to ensure consistency and coordination.
- Recruitment and Retention Strategies
- Develop and implement evidence-based recruitment and retention strategies tailored to CUE’s target demographics and institutional priorities.
- Monitor the effectiveness of recruitment campaigns and retention strategies, making recommendations for adjustments as needed.
- Market Research and Analysis
- Understand the competitive post-secondary landscape in Edmonton and Alberta, identify target markets and assess the demand for programs.
- Evaluate new program opportunities based on market needs and CUE’s capabilities/priorities.
- Policy Development and Compliance
- Assist in the development and review of enrolment policies, ensuring they are aligned with CUE institutional goals.
- Monitor compliance with enrolment policies, practices and best practices.
- Project Management
- Oversee the SEM plan’s project management, including setting timelines, assigning tasks, and managing resources effectively.
- Track progress, resolve issues, and adjust strategies as needed to meet enrolment objectives.
- Communication and Marketing Support
- Collaborate with CUE’s Marketing and Communications team to create campaigns that support enrolment initiatives and enhance CUE’s visibility.
- Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all CUE communication channels.
