Description:

Working as part of the Strategic Estates and Infrastructure Team to develop and support specific programmes/ projects, specifically the space utilisation programme, the post holder will be responsible for the planning, co-ordination, monitoring and delivery of related projects. They will identify and implement necessary changes to enable the team to perform to its optimum ability.
The purpose of this post is to manage complex projects, which rise as a result of local and national Capital Programmes and initiatives. These projects will need to be delivered within budget and to agreed time scales.
The project manager will be responsible for the day to day management of one or more projects and the implementation of any relevant / associated change management. They will manage all stages of the project and the production, management and processing of all the formal documentation on behalf of the team.

The project manager will be responsible for establishing project wide plans which embrace key milestones and critical path events, and the establishment of robust monitoring processes, reporting any deviations from plan, impact on overall programme and potential mitigating actions to the Programme Manager/Strategic Lead
The Strategic Estates Team (SET) is a small (6 staff) and specialist team that is leading the L&SC system developing its capability and supporting key system-wide programmes. Staff have come together from former CCGS, NHSE and former ICS staff. Staff worked very differently in former organisations and over the past year have developed a great bond, huge amounts or respect and pulled together from the offset of the ICB.
Due to the diversity of work the team need to be blue sky - out of the box thinkers, ensuring they take a creative approach in the work they do.
Each member brings to the team unique skills in problem solving and specialist advice/support and does the utmost to ensure the job gets done always putting the patient and the long-term needs of the NHS first.
The team works across primary care, community and the acutes delivering highly successful, multifaceted projects and capital schemes and large transformational programmes.
Project Planning Responsibilities
Design and apply appropriate project management frameworks for the project/s (using relevant and agreed project standards)
With the Programme Manager and Strategic Lead plan and monitor projects
Adopt any delegated assurance roles with agreed reporting structures
Prepare and maintain the project plan(s) and update reports as required
Identity any risks regarding projects or change and develop a strategy to overcome or address these, including the development of contingency plans
Undertake the logging and resolution of issues which arise obtaining appropriate approvals, and seeking advice where necessary
Liaise with Programme Manager and other project managers and related projects to ensure that work is neither overlooked nor duplicated
Manage the overall progress and use of resource, initiating corrective action where necessary
Manage the change control and any required configuration management
Implement any changes sensitively and with minimal disruption.
Report, through agreed reporting lines, on project progress through Highlight Reports and state assessments
Liaise with appointed project assurance roles to assure the overall direction and integrity of the project
Identifying and obtain any support and advice required for the management, planning and control of the project
Managing any project specific administration
Create a system to evaluate the success of any projects and adjustments made within the directorate and present any findings including lessons learned
Prepare any follow-on action recommendations as required
Capital planning and management
To support the development of the Strategic Estates and Infrastructure Team objectives in order to achieve the identified needs and benefits.
To ensure individual project plans, risks, benefits and outputs are completed and feeds into quarterly updates of teams objectives
To support and as necessary deputise for any project sponsor
