JOB DESCRIPTION

The role sits within the Strategic Finance team with a focus on RDEL funding, across both programme and admin. We are a small and friendly team sitting within the Finance Directorate, and which are involved in supporting on all major finance decisions in the Department. This role gives you the chance to be at the centre of action with the upcoming Phase 2 of the Spending Review and Business Planning. Working with the other central teams in the Department, to deliver the second phase of the Spending Review, working with HMT and senior stakeholders within the Department.
We are looking for a motivated team player to support the team on RDEL programme and RDEL admin- supporting on allocating these budgets within the Department, and on the Phase 2 bid process. The successful candidate will enjoy using their analytical skills to cut through data to get to the key financial messages and enjoy collaborating with a wide range of teams, both in and outside of Finance.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be:

  • Supporting data modelling and scenario planning of budget and workforce data, working collaboratively with colleagues in HR to present options and outputs.
  • Leading on reviewing commission returns of the smaller portfolios with the support of the wider team and providing feedback to teams on their returns.
  • Performing initial analysis on commission returns and summarising the key headlines and identifying areas that require further scrutiny.
  • Supporting wider Finance, HR and Strategy teams with completing papers and briefings for senior stakeholders.
  • Supporting on data management in commissions and leading on version control to ensure high data quality.
