Description:

WHATNOT

Whatnot is the largest livestream shopping platform in North America and Europe to buy, sell, and discover the things you love. We’re building the future of ecommerce, bringing together community, shopping and entertainment. We are committed to our values, and as a remote co-located team, we operate out of hubs within the US, UK, Ireland, Poland, and Germany today.
We’re innovating in the fast-paced world of live auctions from fashion, beauty, electronics to collectibles like trading cards, comic books, and even live plants. Whatnot has something for everyone.
And, we’re growing. Whatnot has been one of the fastest growing marketplaces and we’re hiring forward-thinking problem solvers across all functional areas.

ABOUT THE FINANCE TEAM

The Whatnot Finance team consists of Strategic Finance, FP&A, Tax, Accounting, and International. The International Finance team leads Whatnot’s global expansion efforts by providing in-depth financial analysis to influence strategic decisions. As an inaugural member of our team, you will help define our position in the company by partnering cross-functionally with business units to evaluate key questions, tackle problems, and drive results. We are looking for someone with deep financial modeling expertise and a track record of success in dynamic, fast-growing environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Own financial reporting and forecasting for our international businesses, focusing on top-line metrics (GMV and Revenue), Gross Profit, and Contribution Margin, while partnering closely with our core Strategic Finance team on consolidations.
  • Act as a business partner to cross-functional teams (Category Expansion, International Operations, Marketing, Engineering), leading strategic financial modeling and evaluating business opportunities.
  • Evaluate and support Pricing and Promotions initiatives across the international business by deeply understanding and analyzing their financial implications.
  • Own and drive strategic profitability levers, transforming operational and financial data into actionable financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Shape the financial strategy for our international markets, working closely with leadership to drive growth in new and existing regions and directly impact our global expansion strategy.
  • Take ownership of high-impact initiatives, acting as a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to influence key business decisions and work cross-functionally to support long-term profitability.
Team members in this role are required to be within commuting distance of our London, Dublin, or Berlin hubs.
