Role Summary/Purpose
The Strategic Fulfillment Leader will work under the Global Supply Chain Material – Services Fulfillment organization. Some of the main activities will include purchasing, monitoring, developing strategic suppliers on time to promise improvement ideas & ensure timely delivery for parts needed at Wabtec’s warehouses and service centers.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage purchase orders to ensure objectives are met regarding on time delivery, inventory, customer emergencies and material availability.
  • Manage relationships with strategic suppliers for PO execution, promising, shipments, and maintenance of PO’s, all to ensure material will be delivered on time.
  • Communicate forecast with suppliers and monitor delivery.
  • Responsible for leveraging cross-location opportunities for supplier rationalization and material consolidation.
  • Support internal and external customers emergencies and Out of Services.
  • Train, mentor & manage a direct report (Services Buyer).
  • Coordinate direct report (Services Buyer) performance by following std. work
  • Lead the commodity section assigned & assist the direct report to achieve customer goals.
  • Work closely with the Commodity Teams to identify opportunities of cost reduction and supplier consolidation within the Global Supply Chain.
  • Serve as a Champion for the Services team on different specialized areas.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Purchasing / Materials

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in Fulfillment / Purchasing and writing fulfillment reports using MS Access, SQL.
  • Experience with Oracle 11.3, AP systems.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a lean environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
