We are a dynamic and dedicated operations and delivery team that is crucial in maintaining and enhancing Coventry. We have a real passion for delivering for the city of Coventry and seek to achieve the very best service possible, through the “One Coventry” approach in all that we do, collaborating with other city service teams to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.
The team covers a broad range of services from inspections, routine maintenance, emergency response, construction, surface treatments, structures, flood risk management, design, street lighting, parking services, enforcement services, school support services, residual services & advisory services.
The team operate in a fast-paced environment and are able to respond swiftly to all aspects of change or requests.
What is the job role?
Join us in shaping the future of our city! We seek a dynamic leader to oversee the operational delivery and management of our highway network and related infrastructure. This role involves securing funding for major projects, leading city centre vision initiatives, and enhancing placemaking strategies.
You’ll ensure high performance through robust management systems while engaging with customers and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement. By promoting equal opportunities and ensuring compliance with legislation, you’ll foster a responsive, can-do culture. Help us deliver strategic objectives and elevate Coventry’s development in collaboration with elected members and partners.

Collaboration with the wider team, peers and members alike is a vital aspect of engagement to ensure the service moves forward as one. This often includes media engagement, representing the City Council to inform the wider public of key activities the council is engaged with.
You will need extensive experience and technical ability, to be recognised in the industry as a strong and competent leader, and a fellow or chartered member of a professional organisation.
Within our City Services directorate, we are currently under-represented across our senior management team, as a result, we would like to encourage both women and people from minority ethnic backgrounds to apply for this post.
