Description:

The Strategic Sourcing Senior Manager at Amgen will lead the development and execution of strategic sourcing activities to achieve company cost savings objectives. You will build and manage relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Strategic Sourcing Senior Manager will report within Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) into the Head of Ex US site sourcing leads, located in the Netherlands, and will be responsible for ~$600M in spend across the Amgen Dun Laoghaire site and European region capital program. The Sourcing Site lead will be accountable for developing and managing sourcing strategies, supplier management processes for the site in collaboration with key business stakeholders and effectively sourcing various indirect categories in accordance with established Procurement policies and guidelines. The role will be working closely with and prioritizing activity with site Finance, Engineering, Process Development & Manufacturing teams and Global Category Sourcing Managers, implementing and contributing to global category sourcing strategies and supplier management processes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Sourcing Experience
  • Proven knowledge and experience in indirect sourcing and strong experience in sourcing Capital Engineering, Construction and Equipment
  • Experience in delivering projects for a Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology company
  • Experience in interacting and collaborating with Project Management, Engineering, Project Estimating and Controls, Finance, Legal
  • Understanding of planning, development and execution of Capital Projects
  • Solid understanding of procurement / sourcing / category management methodology
  • Experience and knowledge to develop and implement a successful sourcing strategy
  • Ability to drive value for customers by leveraging the right sourcing levers
  • Strong negotiator with the ability to drive value for business partners and suppliers through strategic supplier agreements
  • Ability to analyze spend data and present insights based on the needs of the audience
  • Advanced problem-solving & analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct benchmarking to address cost, quality, risk and innovation considerations
  • Demonstrated track record of identifying root causes to issues and proactively problem solving complex organizational needs
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and soft skills
  • Strong oral and written communication / presentation skills
  • Ability to develop strong, trust-based, mutually beneficial relationships with key internal stakeholders / groups and with key providers in current and future markets
  • Independent self-starter with continuous improvement mindset and ability to motivate others to accomplish ambiguous tasks
