Overall job purpose
The DDaT – Strategy and Policy Lead has overall responsibility for the development and management of DDaT policies. The post involves the coordination of the individual DDaT teams and supporting subject matter experts to ensure policies align with the DDaT and wider corporate policy standards. The post holder is also the DDaT interface to the Education IT Strategy and responsible for managing the renewal and ongoing monitoring of the councils Corporate Digital Strategy.
They will design and maintain policies and strategies ensuring they meet the governance need of the relevant DDaT team while reflecting the business needs of the council. They will research emerging technologies and ensure the DDaT policies are continually developed to account for changes in the technology landscape.
Reporting to the Chief Digital Officer, this post will play a key role in achieving the strategic goals of the DDaT team through delivery of the Corporate and Education IT Strategies. They will provide assistance and guidance to DDaT managers and the Chief Digital Officer.
The post holder will. will be required to understand the impact of policy and strategy changes on services and teams and assist the Chief Digital Officer in the preparation and delivery of reports and presentations to senior officers, elected members, boards and committees.
