About the role
As ATB’s next Strategy Manager with People Places & Spaces (PP&S), you will report to the Strategy Director, People Places & Spaces and support the generation, maintenance, analytics, governance, planning and stakeholder management for long-term portfolio-based strategies. You will help bridge the gap between high-level strategic goals and practical implementation, ensuring that our strategies are not just envisioned but effectively planned for successful execution. You will oversee top-level governance processes, ensuring strategic initiatives are aligned with budget frameworks. You will also help define and track ROI and KPIs for our portfolios, providing detailed reporting to ensure the effectiveness and impact of strategic initiatives. This is a net new role on the team and we are excited for the impact it will have.
PP&S is ATB’s real estate and facilities business unit and leads: real estate strategy, workplace optimization & experience, spatial design, construction, project management, leasing & subleasing management, facilities management & maintenance, asset management, facility operations, occupational health & safety, and physical security. PP&S oversees ATB’s 1.5 million square feet of space and the team is deeply connected to transforming banking through ATB’s client facing locations, and leading the way with corporate workplace transformation, both of which bring ATB’s mandate to life and power possibility for Albertans.
Accountabilities

Strategy Manager Accountabilities:

  • Strategic Translation: Help to translate broad-based enterprise positions, strategies and operating plans into portfolio-specific, long-term directional strategies and deliverables, to inform shorter-term decision and portfolio planning.
  • Governance Support: Support the establishment and maintenance of centralized PP&S governance framework, aligning with associated Enterprise governance bodies and ensuring PP&S resources are aligned with strategies.
  • Budget Alignment: Support PP&S budget planning processes to ensure alignment of resources with strategic objectives, demonstrating a strong understanding of overarching strategies and priorities.
  • Market Intelligence: Act as the primary PP&S market intelligence resource, monitoring key trends, industry benchmarking, and the internal and external environment. Ensure that strategies are informed by and inclusive of market intelligence, aligning them with current and emerging trends.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze, aggregate and research data and feedback to support strategy work, including opportunities and threats for the portfolio from both internal and external sources. Conduct quantitative and qualitative studies as relevant.
  • KPI & ROI Tracking: Collaborate with the internal technology innovation and data analytics teams to define and track KPIs and return on investment for our portfolios. Leverage data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions, ensuring the effectiveness and impact of initiatives through detailed, real-time reporting and analysis.
  • Executive Reporting: Author executive level reports and data models regularly to make informed recommendations to key stakeholders and garner support for recommendations.

  • Motivated & Resourceful: You are motivated and can see opportunities. You possess the drive and resourcefulness to locate the support required to bring an idea to fruition.
  • Strategic & Tactical Balance: You are able to operate at a macro strategic level, while getting your hands dirty and understanding tactical operational nuances.

As the ideal candidate you possess:

  • Education: University degree in business, finance, real estate, or related field. Relevant certifications are an asset.
  • Experience: 7+ years experience in strategic planning, real estate, facilities or consulting experience preferred. Other relevant professional experience may be considered.
  • Skills: Proficiency in strategic planning, data analysis, and stakeholder management, with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong proficiency with G-Suite is an asset, with the ability and willingness to learn new systems, software, and data analytics platforms.
