JOB DESCRIPTION:
Are you an experienced Stress Engineer with experience of working on aircraft structures? Do you want to lead teams and develop our engineers of the future?
We have a fantastic opportunity within our Helicopter Division, based in Yeovil, where you will have the responsibility for the analysis, development and certification of the aircraft structure. Uniquely positioned on a true end-to-end facility, you will have the pride to see the designs you work on grow from concepts through to manufacture, installation and flight and you will play an integral part in the continued growth in our capability for the future.
As part of the Structures Team you will be responsible for developing structural design solutions in collaboration with other engineering departments and key stakeholders, for our wide product range encompassing conventional helicopters, tilt rotors and unmanned air systems.
Our analysis team supports both the UK and Italian geographies so although this role is based in the UK there is the opportunity to work on our full product range and travel to other sites.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
- Experience in the analysis of complex engineering structures
- Expert knowledge in conventional (hand calculation) and numerical (finite element) techniques for static analysis
- A working knowledge of fatigue and damage tolerance
- Knowledge of composite materials and analysis principles
- Working experience of MSC Nastran/Altair HyperMesh/MathCAD
- Evidence of working in a regulated environment with knowledge of airworthiness regulations e.g. MAA, EASA or FAA would also be an advantage
Responsibilities:
- Leading a team of analysis engineers, you’ll be responsible for the coordination, creation and delivery of varied and challenging static and dynamic analysis, test activities and creation of airworthiness compliance documentation
- You’ll be an innovator, mentor and influencer within the Structures team, driving forward departmental and process improvements whilst developing the engineers of the future
- You’ll represent the Structures Analysis team in internal Design Reviews and Certification Panel discussions with the authorities
- You’ll provide pragmatic solutions to complex problems
