Responsibilities:
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING IN THIS ROLE?
We are seeking dedicated Neurologist who can fulfil the following responsibilities:
- Diagnosing and treating illnesses: You would diagnose and treat various neurological conditions.
- Consulting with patients on aftercare and long-term health management strategies: You would consult with patients on aftercare and long-term health management strategies.
- Monitoring patients’ progress and adjusting treatments or medication as needed: You would monitor patients’ progress and adjust treatments or medication as needed.
- Diagnosing complex medical problems: You would diagnose complex medical problems by referring to a patient’s history, examining them, and conducting neurological tests.
- Counseling patients on neurological disorders and their background: You would counsel patients on neurological disorders and their background.
- Ordering neurological tests and interpreting the results of neuroimaging studies: You would order neurological tests and interpret the results of neuroimaging studies.
- Prescribing and/or administering treatment and medication related to neurological disorders: You would prescribe and/or administer treatment and medication related to neurological disorders.
- Monitoring the behavioral and cognitive side effects of treatment and medication: You would monitor the behavioral and cognitive side effects of treatment and medication.
- Ordering supportive care services for patients: You would order supportive care services for patients.
- Participating in neuroscience research activities: You would participate in neuroscience research activities.
- Liaising with medical professionals in the community and other hospitals: You would liaise with medical professionals in the community and other hospitals.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE?
You will need to be a registered Neurologist/Stroke doctor and have experience working in Neurology/Stroke.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Meet the English Language requirements set out by the New Zealand Medical Board.
- Meet the requirements of one of the New Zealand Doctor registration pathways.
