JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Structural and Thermal engineer for Redwire Poland, you are responsible for a project’s structural and thermal integrity, with projects ranging from small, handheld experiments to large docking mechanisms. You work closely together with the Lead Systems engineer and Mechanical Integration engineer to ensure all structural and thermal requirements are met, also taking the lead in the preparation, execution, and reporting of environmental tests. Testing, modeling & analysis, and technical writing are part and parcel of the work you are prepared to do on a day-to-day basis.

Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering principles to ensure that designed components and systems meet all requirements.
  • Develop and execute design verification campaigns in various launch and thermal environments.
  • Oversee structural, thermal and environmental test activities.
  • Generate technical documentation, reporting and presentations of design, test, and analysis results.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in mechanical, thermal, aerospace engineering or other related degree
  • 2-3 years’ of relevant experience, with previous structural and/or thermal engineering roles preferred
  • Strong understanding of structural dynamics (e.g. eigenmodes, sine vibration, random vibration), structural testing (static, vibration, shock), and thermal testing (thermal vacuum testing)
  • Experience with thermal and structural verification & analysis using Creo Simulate, ESATAN, ESARAD, FEMAP, and NASTRAN
  • Experience with programming languages such as VBA, Python, and MATLAB
  • Ability to write and communicate technical reports in English
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written – in English and Polish
  • Willingness to travel
