Job Description
We are currently looking for a Structural EIT to join our team based out of St. John’s, Newfoundland. This person should have strong interpersonal skills and experience in structural engineering design/analysis. This is an opportunity to be part of a newer team with room to grow and participate in multidisciplinary projects and work with professionals that are contributing to the successful growth of their team and business. This is a hybrid position based in the St John’s, NL region with regular travel to Labrador City, NL.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Registered as an EIT or P. Eng. in Newfoundland & Labrador
  • Experience in site work, detailed design, project engineering and construction
  • Must be willing to travel to remote work sites. Regular travel to the Labrador City, NL office will be a requirement for this position
  • Capacity to interact within a multidisciplinary environment is necessary
  • Project management experience is an asset
  • Capability to interact with our client base in order to clearly understand their problems and recommend solutions
  • Entrepreneurial spirit that will contribute to growing client relationships and the business is a strong asset

Responsibilities:

  • Work within a multidisciplinary design team, reporting to the Project Manager
  • Complete site visits to document existing conditions in both greenfield and brownfield projects
  • Carry out structural detailed design / analysis (related to General Arrangements, structural steel, concrete, etc.)
  • Prepare detailed drawing review and mark-up for designers/drafters
  • Complete budgetary estimates, write proposals, technical reports and studies
  • Familiar with structural analysis software (STAAD.Pro)
  • Participate in formal engineering review processes
  • Work on industrial (with focus on mining and hydroelectric facilities), commercial, institutional, and government projects
