The successful candidate for this job will work with the project team to accomplish successful completion of projects including building structures for government, public, and private clients. An independent, self-directed and motivated candidate with an EIT will have the opportunity to be a project design engineer for regional, national, and international projects performed from Portland under the leadership and mentorship of Senior Structural Engineers. The qualified individual possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills that will enhance our relationship with our current clients.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering or currently obtaining a related degree.
  • 0-5 years of experience, including internships in engineering and consulting firms.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) required, Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit/BIM with working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Knowledgeable in the design of structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, aluminum, and wood.

Responsibilities:

  • Under of guidance of a Structural Engineer, perform design of structural systems including appropriate system concepts including: calculations, layout, sizing, selections, specifications and coordination.
  • Perform site visits of existing structural systems for evaluation or to inspect work in progress/completed
  • Develop structural Construction Documents using Revit and/or AutoCAD
  • Review and respond to team members on project design work, RFIs, submittals, and other construction related documents and issues in a professional and timely manner.
