Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Structural design, coastal design, geotechnical investigation, and site layout;
  • Prepare foundation and pile design as well as ground improvement recommendations;
  • Developing engineering solutions to challenging structural and geotechnical problems and site conditions;
  • Coordination and support with marine and geotechnical team on projects;
  • Oversee waterfront structure and marine infrastructure projects;
  • Design and engineering for a variety of areas such as harbors, marinas, vessel mooring and berthing structures, bulkheads and seawalls, breakwaters and shore protection structures, shoreline stabilization and sediment management;
  • Development and management of instrumentation monitoring systems;
  • Small project/task management and proposal preparation support;
  • Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications; and
  • Attend meetings with clients and regulatory authorities.

Education and Licensure:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil and/or structural engineering. (required)
  • Advanced degree in civil or structural engineering. (preferred)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Experience with engineering structural analysis software such as AUTOCAD, SAP2000, HILTI, ALLPILE, STAAD Pro, MATLab, SWAN, SBEACH, MIKE21, and Plaxis. (2D/3D). (preferred)
  • Strong oral and technical writing skills. (required)
  • Familiarity with international structural design standards including Eurocode and British Standards. (preferred)
  • Familiarity and experience on coastal and waterfront projects. (preferred)
