Prestige Homes is recruiting a Structural Engineer or Technologist to join our engineering and design team at our manufacturing facility in Sussex, New Brunswick. You will be part of a growing and dynamic team who is responsible for designing and organizing the necessary information to bring a customer’s home to life.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical diploma in Building Engineering Technology - Structural or similar education related to residential and commercial building design.
- Strong computer aided design skills specifically with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience using Mitek Structure or Alpine Engineering software including 3D modeling and CNC output.
- Desire to learn new software and push boundaries.
- Knowledge of building codes related to residential and commercial building design.
- Familiarity with modular construction, manufacturing or CNC operations would be an asset.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication, planning and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative.
- Desire to work in a team environment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Working directly with Architectural team to understand customer’s needs.
- Preparing all necessary shop drawings, structural details, specifications & plans to fabricate residential and commercial buildings per customers specifications.
- Designing floor and roof truss systems preparing quantity take-offs, cut lists and hardcopy drawing package for factory construction.
- Performing quality checks of drawings & details for codes & standards compliance.
- Collaborate & innovate across departments to improve accuracy and efficiency of drawings, details, and other information.
- Provide technical assistance to sales, procurement, factory, service, and other departments as required.
- Other duties related to sales, design, and engineering as required.
