In this role, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Lead and develop structural engineering designs for (Institutional, Commercial, Transit, and Residential) projects, from concept through to construction completion.
- Design steel, concrete, masonry, and mass timber structures.
- Liaise with other departments and sub-consultants in coordinating technical aspects of the work under the direction of a Senior Engineer.
- Prepare the contract documents including structural engineering drawings and specifications.
- Execute construction review of structures to ensure general conformance with the contract documents.
- Lead meetings with clients and other consultants, effectively coordinating and communicating structural intent.
- Work with teams in the preparation of estimates, schedules and budgets, where required and contribute to work planning and scheduling.
- Assist in field inspection of existing structures and provide reports and recommendations on the findings.
- Write site visit reports clearly and concisely for records.
- Commit to a high standard of work and ensure quality control reviews are completed for every project.
- Continuously growing professional skills and knowledge through seminars, workshops, and involvement in professional associations to stay updated on the latest trends, software, and technology.
- Managing other exciting-related assignments within the scope of the practice area.
The qualifications you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5-7 years of structural experience designing steel, concrete, masonry, and/or mass timber structures for Commercial, Institutional, Transit, or Residential projects.
- A licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng. designation) with Professional Engineers Ontario is required.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Ontario Building Code and reference material design standards.
- Advanced working knowledge of Structural Analysis software (such as ETABS, SAP, and SAFE); working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD, and MicroStation is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strategic and process-oriented, prefers to operate in a fast and dynamic environment.
- Team player and able to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Able to prioritize tasks with excellent organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented and commendable problem-solving skills.

In this role, you will lead and develop structural engineering designs for a range of projects, including institutional, commercial, transit, and residential buildings. This includes managing the design process from concept through to construction completion, with a focus on steel, concrete, masonry, and mass timber structures.
