Description:

Job Summary: The Steel Detailer will be responsible for creating detailed 2D and 3D drawings, plans, and models for structural steel components. This role requires collaboration with engineers, project managers, and fabricators to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to project specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Steel Detailer in a structural steel fabrication or construction environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, or other detailing software. Experience with STRUMIS is a plus.
  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required with equivalent experience).
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with AISC standards, steel fabrication processes, and connection design.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings.
  • Other Requirements: Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce detailed shop and erection drawings for structural steel components using Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, or equivalent software.
  • Develop accurate bill of materials (BOM) and ensure compliance with project requirements and specifications.
  • Perform clash detection and coordinate with design teams to resolve conflicts prior to fabrication.
  • Work closely with project managers and fabricators to ensure seamless communication and execution of designs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of drawings, revisions, and project files.
  • Adhere to industry standards, codes, and company quality control procedures.
  • Assist in the review of design documents and provide recommendations for constructability and cost-effectiveness.
