Structured Cabling Technician

OVERVIEW:

We are actively seeking Experienced Cabling Technicians to assist with daily operations in our Calgary office. Predominantly commercial/retail/data center projects.

• Experience in working with copper (UTP, Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a) and fiber optic media types, (MMF, SMF, 50 micron, 62.5 micron), industry standards and applications, and use cases (e.g., Ethernet, Fibre Channel, SONET, TDM).
• Ability to install cable runs, patch panels and cross connects. As well as experience working within data centres and knowledge in cable lacing as per the Datacenter standards.
• Hands-on experience with installation of copper and fiber media types
• Experience working with Fluke test equipment – understand how to read and upload results.
• Knowledge of 48 volt DC power is an asset
• Ability to maintain detailed site documentation of customer cross-connects
• May be required to participate in regular facilities audits
• Certified in Belden, Commscope and/or Panduit. Additional certification(s) an asset.
• Comfortable working within a detail orientated position.
• Ability to comply with specified policies and procedures of both the company and customer
• Experience in telephony, security and audio visual is preferred
• Available for support 24/7 and may be required to perform maintenance windows
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
