Reporting to the Student Accounts Manager, the Student Accounts Clerk provides all services related to billing, collecting and advising on receivables within the department. This role is an integral part of the day-to-day operations of the Student Accounts department. The Student Accounts Clerk has strong interpersonal skills and is well versed on the university’s Financial Policies and Procedures.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree, or post-secondary diploma in administration or accounting.
- A minimum of 2 years of related experience.
- Experience with bookkeeping is considered an asset.
- Capacity to perform cashier functions that involve processing credit card payments, cash transactions and reconciling at the end of day.
- Ability to multitask and work quickly with a high attention to detail. Includes ability to work with interruptions.
- Capacity to work with a computer accounting program, without a great deal of Orientation.
- Demonstrates good interpersonal skills that enables them to get along well with others as well as dealing with difficult student inquires.
- Satisfactory Criminal Records Check results.

Responsibilities:
- Respond to inquiries by email, telephone or in person and provide accurate information or direction.
- Receipting all payments including cash, cheques, credit card and EFT payments.
- Including importing large batches of payments into the cash receipt and student billing modules.
- Receive direction from internal departments to receipt various items and cash reports to the correct GL.
- Reconcile cash out daily and prepare deposit slip daily.
- Communicates to students who have not paid their fees and need to extend the payment deadlines.
- Work with a number of different financial software including: Moneris, Student Billing, Financial Edge, and Concordia’s Student Information System,
- Manage wireless POS, reconciles floats and prepares floats required for various departments. This includes CUE Bookstore, athletics and music as requested
- Assists in filling ATM when required and running daily reports
- Enter Shopify deposits and do month end journal entries
- Passe out cheque refunds and records on the student account
- Other duties as assigned
