Description:
QUALIFICAITONS
Experience: 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible related experience in areas providing a responsive, customer driven environment. Prior experience in a college setting in a student affairs or related support function is ideal while we will train the right candidate.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Proven administrative ability to establish priorities in the position and work independently, little or no supervision required.
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral. Ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and customers face to face.
- Passion for customer service and helping others.
- Excellent computer skills ¿ Microsoft Office especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, database reporting tools, Google Drive and Adobe Acrobat. As well as an aptitude for learning new programs. Proficient is People Soft Financial Management Systems a plus.
- Ability to meet consistent attendance.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop new strategies and opportunities for recruiting, assisting with career planning and engagement with industry and enhancing student engagement and life specifically for Chemical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Macromolecular Engineering and for the Case School of Engineering. (15%)
- Oversee and develop a comprehensive strategy for recruitment, retention and student affairs that produces innovative, student centered processes and results in increased student and faculty satisfaction. (10%)
- Develop the highest quality educational experience for graduate and undergraduates in our all programs in collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and campus departments. Responsible for a wide range of student service duties that include undergraduate student employment processing and pay monitoring, graduate student payroll processing and oversite, general student advising, interpreting and applying campus policies as they relate to academic programs, cultivating relationships with faculty in support of their involvement with programs and with students and providing oversight of student affairs coordinator who supports day-to-day tasks of the programs. (10%)
- Develop, execute, and assess recruiting strategies for the purpose of attracting higher caliber undergraduate and graduate students to the school. Communicate and update this plan regularly to the chair and faculty for input and feedback. Drive the design and development of publications and materials needed for effective recruiting and increased outreach. (15%)
- Implement plans for stronger retention of current students and the development of internal outreach strategies for advising present students. (10%)
- Cultivate all prospects through the inquiry and applicant cycle with close attention to creative communication plans which engage students in the benefits of Chemical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Macromolecular Engineering and affiliations with the school. Represent assigned departments and the engineering school at national recruiting events and graduate fairs. Also engage and coordinate the participation of current students and faculty in the recruiting process. Evaluate effectiveness, produce relevant recruiting statistics to assess and redirect efforts during all phases on an annual recruiting cycle. Recommend procedures to improve the recruitment of viable prospective students. (10%)
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no direct supervision of staff employees. May oversee the work of the student affairs coordinator.
