Description:

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (www.fraunhofer.com) currently operates 76 institutes and research institutions throughout Germany and is the world’s leading applied research organization. Around 30 800 employees work with an annual research budget of 3.0 billion euros.
The Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in Freiburg is the largest solar research institute in Europe. Our approximately 1,400 employees work towards a sustainable, economical, safe and socially just energy supply system based on renewable energies. We contribute to this with our research focus on energy supply, energy distribution, energy storage and energy use. We are shaping the sustainable transformation of the energy system through outstanding research results, successful industrial projects, company spin-offs and global cooperation.
Would you like to play an active role in shaping the energy transition and gain practical experience during your studies?
The “Conductive Bonding” team is subordinate to the “Photovoltaic Modules” department. The task of our team is to interconnect highly efficient solar cells such as heterojunction, shingle, or tandem solar cells with the help of conductive adhesives. We work together with numerous industrial partners to realize innovative module technologies with conductive adhesives. In the projects, we are investigating the material and joint properties as well as the processes for successful use of the adhesives. The matrix shingle technology is particularly suitable for applications in integrated photovoltaics due to its outstanding masonry appearance.
We are looking for a student assistant for our “Conductive Bonding” team as soon as possible.
