Responsibilities:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented student assistant (f/m/x) to support our organ-on-chip technology development and manufacturing efforts. The person will work closely with our multidisciplinary team of engineers, biologists, and researchers to establish and improve devices and processes by integrating automation along the entire microfluidic device production and application workflow. This is a hands-on position that offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in cutting-edge technology at the intersection of engineering and life sciences.
We are a leading research group dedicated to advancing the field of organ-on-chip technology. Our team is focused on developing innovative solutions that bridge the gap between engineering and biology, creating microfluidic devices that enable the replication and deeper understanding of human organ systems. Your tasks

  • Assist in the design and prototyping of organ-on-chip devices using CAD software
  • Support the fabrication and assembly of microfluidic systems through automation
  • Assist in experiments to test and validate device performance and reliability
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize design and manufacturing processes
  • Assist in analysis of experimental data and contribute to technical reports

Your profile

  • Student in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., Onshape, SolidWorks) and rapid prototyping techniques
  • Experience in automation, microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi), and PCB design is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Enthusiasm for interdisciplinary research and technology development
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative
