Description:
Olam AID is a humanitarian aid organization dedicated to responding to the evolving needs of crisis and conflict-affected populations, both within and outside Germany. Our mission is to support these communities as they transition from crisis to recovery, rehabilitation, and sustainable living.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Student Assistant in Communications will play a crucial role in managing our social media presence, maintaining our website, and supporting our PR and communications efforts. The student assistant will support the development and communication team in building new fundraising initiatives, newsletters and other formats aligned with our rebranded identity.
Location: Berlin (preferred)
Start Date: as soon as possible
Position Type: Part-time (10-15 hours per week)
Tasks
- Social Media Management: Manage and maintain our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) including content creation, scheduling, community interaction, and performance analysis.
- Website Maintenance: Update and maintain website content, ensuring information is current and accurate, and optimize the user experience.
- PR and Communications Support: Assist in creating press releases, newsletters, and other communication materials, and support the planning and execution of PR campaigns.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the communications and development team to develop and implement consistent and impactful communication strategies.
Requirements
- Language Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English. Additional languages are a plus.
- Experience: Ideally experience in social media management, website maintenance, or PR. Experience in volunteering or social and humanitarian projects is advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with major social media platforms and MS Office. Graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) are a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, creativity, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
