Description:

The Student Center Coordinator is a full-time position that assists the Director of Ringhaver Student Center in providing onsite event services and building operations management. This assistance includes total oversight of multiple events and building/information desk services, including supervision of student support staff. In addition, this assistance will also include training student employees and maintaining inventory areas. Primary work locations will be the Ringhaver Student Center, The Commons, and the West Lawn, but could also include other campus locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential Responsibilities:
Uphold the Flagler College and the Ringhaver Student Center mission and vision and support the implementation of the campus-wide and student affairs strategic plans
Communicate frequently with the Director of Ringhaver Student Center to share necessary information
Maintain a good working relationship with other College staff and departments to more effectively meet the goals of the Student Center
Complete event set-ups of furniture and audio/visual equipment in a timely manner based on provided event summaries and communications
Complete technology tests prior to arrival of client/event host
Greet client/event host upon arrival and address client/event host questions/needs tactfully/promptly before the event starts and during the event
Oversee events in person for the entire duration of the event, including troubleshooting/directly addressing issues, ensuring client/event host adherence to policy, and referring issues upward to supervisor when necessary
Maintain inventory areas and prepare furniture and audio/visual equipment for storage after events have finished
Delegate tasks and observe/address accuracy of the appropriate student support staff, who will assist in providing onsite event services
Train student employees on event services and operations, including developing training materials for self-paced learning
Address issues related to building, safety, and information desk services, as needed, including contacting the appropriate campus service provider
Provide information desk services directly, as needed, as well as supervising information desk employees
Hosting Student Center programming, such as the food pantry or giveaways
Coordinate student employee activity to create an appropriate evening building ambiance
Assist in the summer with the hosting of orientation sessions and outside groups
Provide planning and consultation sessions for clients/event hosts hosting events in the Student Center
Co-advise the Saints Squad campus involvement program
Assist with programming from within the Division of Student Affairs, especially Student Leadership & Engagement
Other duties as assigned
Hours (including a one-hour, unpaid dinner break): Monday through Friday, ranging anywhere from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. to 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. (based on need from the event schedule)

QUALIFICATIONS: Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
Work experience within the field of higher education or education
Preferred Qualifications

Ability to develop effective working relationships with student employees
Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with many different types of clients and departments

Physical Demands
Ability to lift 50 pounds multiple times per day
Walking or standing during the entire duration of a multi-hour event
Climbing, crouching, or repetitive movements for some tasks, including the ability to climb ladders and stairs
Working outside for events
