About the role
The Faculty Student Experience Manager (SEM) plays a key role supporting the College Education Strategy in developing, implementing, monitoring and continuously improving initiatives to enhance the student experience and learner outcomes of all UG, PGT and PGR students in the Dickson Poon School of Law. This includes overseeing the delivery of all student-experience activity from pre-arrival to graduation. including welcome & induction, community building, extra-curricular events, and widening participation activity.
The SEM works with senior academic leadership and the student Law Council to manage the student feedback cycle, creating opportunities to promote the Student Voice across the provision. They work closely with the Senior Tutor, the Senior Student Support Manager and the Faculty Disability Liaison Officer to ensure the needs of our diverse student population are adequately supported. The SEM plays a key role in representing the Faculty and the interests of its student body in cross-University committees and working groups, acting as a liaison with key support services, with an understanding of the complex issues that impact students and the wider organisational dependencies relevant to delivery of a successful student experience.

This is a full-time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until May 2026.
About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
1. Experience of leading Student Experience activity in a Higher-Education setting, including developing, planning, implementation and evaluation of varied initiatives that enhance the student experience.
2. Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to engage, inspire and influence audiences and stakeholders.
3. Proven ability to develop effective working relationships and establish key contacts with academic and professional service colleagues/teams across the organisation.
4. Excellent organisational and time management skills. An ability to manage a varying workload and work to tight deadlines at times of peak activity.
5. Ability to work independently, proactively and flexibly, using own judgement and initiative where necessary whilst also working effectively as part of a team. Ability to demonstrate resilience under pressure.
6. Experience of handling complex cases, supporting students with disabilities/other circumstances impacting their access to a high-quality student experience. An awareness of the importance of equality, diversity and inclusion in all service delivery.
7. Ability to effectively manage and embed change, developing and implementing innovative student-focused solutions to achieve School or University strategic objectives.
8. Proven ability to plan and manage successful small and large-scale events.
Desirable criteria
1. An understanding of the key challenges facing higher education and the implications for the student experience.
2. Experience of project management and implementation.
3. Experience of advising on University policy and regulations.
