About the role
The Faculty Student Experience Team are seeking two enthusiastic and organised individuals who can adapt in a fast-paced environment promoting an excellent customer service approach to student experience, by running the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine, Faculty Education Services student facing reception provision (The Student Hub).
This is a part-time 17.5 hours per week (3.5 hour daily shifts in person based at our Guy’s campus).
The Student Hub provides an open physical service Monday to Friday 10am-4pm and online 12-2pm. The Hub provides support for UG and PGT students in the Faculty and is there to ensure that student enquiries are resolved promptly and students are signposted to relevant services where necessary efficiently and effectively.
This highly administrative role will require delivery of a responsive student enquiry service, a coordinated approach to communications and student information management.
Applicants will need be solution focussed and agile problem solvers, with a broad spectrum of programme knowledge, student record management and student experience challenges.
This is a part time post (17.5 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract. Each officer will work 17.5 hours per week on either a morning (9.45-1.15) or afternoon (12.45-4.15) basis ensuring the Student Hub provision is adequately covered daily. This is a fully in person campus based at Guy’s campus, with no hybrid working option.
About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, or has relevant work experience within the Higher Education sector
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills. Ability to communicate, and present, effectively in an assured manner with a range of stakeholders, including academic staff.
  • Good working knowledge of all communication disciplines, including social media and communications tools such as Microsoft software and content management systems, and their use as part of an integrated communications strategy
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, able to manage own workload and prioritise tasks in a busy work environment, managing multiple work-streams independently
  • Commitment to 5 x 3.5 hour shifts per week at the specified times on campus
