JOB DESCRIPTION:
The student will use their education, experience, and skills to effectively develop, communicate, and present workflows and curriculum for our EHR(Epic). They will work closely with other project team members, as well as clinical and non-clinical staff to gain a thorough understanding of the system and the associated workflows. To ensure a comprehensive understanding of the workflows, the student will participate in gathering and analyzing information and specifications regarding clinical practices/workflows and business processes; test the workflows; and develop and document policies and procedures that will support an effective use of the system.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Enrolled in a graduate program at an academic institution for Health Informatics or Business Analysis programs with co-op and/or internship.
- Strong communication, persistence, and ambition
- The ability to probe for information about the underlying needs of the organization.
- The ability to communicate effectively with project team members and subject matter experts.
- The ability and interest to learn the software and increase their knowledge over time.
- The ability to develop their own work plan, keep track of it, and report on their progress.
- Eagerness to learn the system and promote it within the organization.
- Understand the importance of and demonstrates a commitment to fostering a culture of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
Responsibilities:
- Perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with Epic software
- Work with Epic team to help identify workflow improvement needs for specific areas
- Provide at-the-elbow go-live support with the team, when needed
- Gain proficiency in your organization’s Epic workflows
- Document and validate current state and future state workflows using Visio
- Collaborate and assist application analysts & training specialists to meet the organization’s needs
- Accurately gather requirements, validate workflows & document processes
- Foster and maintain relationships with end users, subject matter experts and colleagues
- Coordinate project and operational activities with our stakeholders
- Responsible for communication & coordination: meeting & huddle management (sending agendas, taking minutes & tracking follow ups)
