TMX’s post-trade services include the Canadian Depository for Securities Limited (CDS) and Canadian Derivatives Clearing Corporation (CDCC).
As part of the Risk Oversight team, the Student Intern will contribute their problem-solving skills and keen curiosity to develop solutions that will help the team deliver on the CDS and CDCC strategic project initiatives. The Intern will work at the intersection of risk management, business and technology.
Key Accountabilities
Develop tools, processes and analytics that could help the team enhance its validation process
Design scripts to automate reports and processes, including data extraction, cleaning, transformation and reporting
Conduct research on different topics related to CCPs and financial risk management to identify the best practices in the industry and market trends
Collaborate with other team members to build action plans and other materials on various topics
Skills and Experience
Currently working towards a Master’s degree in a quantitative or focused field such as Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or Business
Exceptional communication, strong time management and organization abilities
Excellent quantitative and data analysis skills
Interest in the financial markets and the role of the Clearing Houses in the market ecosystem
Good understanding of market, credit and liquidity fundamentals combined with a willingness and ability to quickly learn new concepts and techniques
Nice to haves
Strong technology and information system skills, e.g. Matlab, SQL, VBA, R.
Working environment
Hybrid role: 2-3 days per week in the downtown Toronto office
4 month Co-op Internship: January 6, 2025 - April 25, 2025
