Responsibilities:
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Student Recreation Officer is employed to provide culturally appropriate sport and recreational activities for the benefit of students residing on the Batchelor Campus. The Student Recreation Officer works part time (including after-hours and weekends) to support a sport and recreational program. This position will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Student Experience Directorate to enhance the experience of students.
DUTIES
- Be the focal point for enquiries on Batchelor campus regarding information and processes related to sport and recreational programs, provisions, and activities.
- Liaise with appropriate staff members, divisions of the Institute or external stakeholders to plan, design, cost, implement and coordinate an annual sport and recreational program for students.
- Circulate a weekly sport and recreational program for students.
- Create, design, implement, and maintain a recreational equipment loan process and asset register.
- Create and maintain activity and attendance statistical data regarding sport and recreational provisions, programs, and activities.
- Assist in the organisation of, or undertake, the transporting of students, to and from, sport and recreational activities, as required.
- Assist with Orientations for VET and Higher Education & Research students and candidates, Institute staff and prospective clients.
- Undertake other duties within the range of skills associated with this classification as directed by the line manager.
