Description:
The need to build strong links with schools and colleges locally and nationally underpins the work of the School and College Engagement Team, supporting the University’s short- and long-term recruitment goals.
Sheffield Hallam University is seeking an experienced and creative staff member to join our growing student recruitment team, working on school and college engagement in target regions across the country.
As one of several Student Recruitment Engagement Co-ordinators, you will work with schools and colleges locally or within designated regions, delivering engagement activities that support the objectives of Sheffield Hallam Academic Colleges and the wider University.
You will deliver activities in schools, colleges, and on campus while identifying opportunities to grow and maintain engagement with key feeder institutions.
You will develop an innovative, creative, and effective offer for schools and colleges, ensuring it meets recruitment and access objectives. You will also contribute to the Student Recruitment Engagement Team’s operational plan and expectations.
Successful candidates will show a commitment to raising aspirations and awareness of university opportunities, particularly at Sheffield Hallam. This includes engaging with teachers, advisors, parents/carers, and student groups. You will be an excellent communicator, confident speaking to small and large student groups, as well as senior school and college staff.
The role typically involves attending events and delivering activities in schools and colleges 3–4 days a week within your region (including travel up to 100+ miles). Events may occur throughout the day, evenings, and occasionally on weekends. You must be able to travel independently with materials and be flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed.
If you are offered this post you will be subject to an enhanced with barred lists check by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily prevent you from working at Sheffield Hallam University but its relevance to the duties of the post will need to be assessed before the appointment is confirmed.
For this job we particularly welcome applications from minority ethnic applicants who are underrepresented in this area/ this type of job at Sheffield Hallam.
The role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route so if you are an international applicant, you will need to ensure you have an appropriate visa to evidence the necessary right to work in the UK
