Description:

EDUCATION:

University Degree in a related field (e.g. Marketing, business) or equivalent (such as a College Diploma in a related field and one year of relevant experience or four years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 3 to 4 years of recent related experience (e.g. liaison, public relations, customer service, marketing, digital media, project management/coordination and administration.) including making effective presentation preferably in an educational environment, and answering detailed/complex enquiries from students, teachers, parents and counsellors. Previous experience in overseeing the workflow of a unit.

SKILLS:

Knowledge of the Ontario and Canadian university systems, admissions criteria, and university programs. Knowledge of Canadian culture and identity as well as the Canadian francophonie (history, culture, languages, etc.). Previous interaction with secondary school aged students, counsellors, or teachers. Demonstrated skill/ability in the following areas. Public speaking and/or making effective presentations in French and English. Effective interpersonal and public relations skills. Working effectively in a team environment. working independently and setting priorities. Dealing courteously and effectively with people. Cross-cultural communications. possible international travel. Exercising good judgment and initiative. Tact and diplomacy essential. attending accurately to detail. Analyzing, interpreting and presenting detailed information clearly. Working effectively under pressure of time constraints. General advising or counselling skills. Excellent organizational skills. maintaining confidentiality. Willingness to travel. Bilingual Modules I (advanced), III (Intermediate), IV (Advanced). Advanced Word, Advanced Excel, Advanced PowerPoint, basic Database skills, Experience with social media tools such as Facebook , Instagram, TikTok and YouTube..

Responsibilities:

The Student Recruitment Marketing Lead plays an important role in Glendon Campus Domestic and International recruitment activities. The SRM Lead oversees the marketing needs for off-campus recruitment for high school visits, college visits, post-secondary community relations, fairs, University Information Programs, Parents’ nights, and other special events. Responsibilities include assisting the Manager in developing a successful SRO presentation and overseeing the marketing needs of the SRO team. The SRM Lead will plan, coordinate, deliver, and participate in various on-campus recruitment activities such as open house events, tours and appointments. During conversion period, the SRM Lead will be responsible for developing the communications material for the recruitment team, The purpose of these activities is to attract qualified applicants to our bilingual campus and to enhance Glendon’s role as the Centre of Excellence for Francophone & Bilingual Post-secondary Studies.
