Position Summary:
Assisting in Professor Dr. Daniel Fortin-Guichard in Sports Science research
Qualifications:
Undergraduate Student in KPE
.Primary Duties:
The chosen candidate will be responsible for data extraction, preparation and analysis in talent identification and perceptual-cognitive skills in golf and volleyball.
- Collating data gathered on highly trained adolescent golfers from eight sources (biomechanic, psychological, perceptual-cognitive, medical, physical, anthropometrical, technical, performance) into a single data file,
- Analyzing collated data to predict performance based on multidisciplinary predictors.
- Analyzing videos frame-by-frame of volleyball performance to test the efficacy of temporal occlusion training.
- Contributing to the writing of two scientific articles.
Education/Experience:
At least 2 years completed in a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, physical education or psychology (or related disciplines). McGill students will be prioritized.
Other Qualifying Skills & Abilities:
- Good knowledge of both English and French (reading and writing)
- Good knowledge of basic inferential statistics and related software (SPSS, R)
- Good knowledge of Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Good knowledge of scientific literature on talent identification and perceptual-cognitive skills in sport
- Basic knowledge of golf and volleyball rules
