MŌ TĒNEI TŪRANGA MAHI | ABOUT THE ROLE
A rewarding opportunity has arisen for a fixed term (parental leave cover), full time Student Support Advisor at our EIT | Te Pūkenga business division located in Gisborne. This role will develop and foster a holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to support student disability and wellbeing needs. This role also holds the Pasifika portfolio and includes a specific focus on supporting Pasifika students on campus. The Student Support Advisor role is based at EIT | Te Pūkenga reporting to the Team Leader, Student Support Services and will be responsible for:
- Providing support to students to enhance opportunities for success in tertiary study
- Contributing to the development and implementation of a strategy for Māori and Pacific student support
- Building networks within EIT | Te Pūkenga and the wider community that contribute to students’ learning experience and success, specifically within the Pasifika community
- Developing and contributing to pastoral care networks for students and referring students to these networks as appropriate
- Developing and/or strengthening reciprocal and transparent relationships between students and their communities and other stakeholders
