Position Purpose: The Student Wellbeing Communications Coordinator plays a pivotal role
within the Student Wellbeing team at Massey University. Central to this
position is the responsibility to facilitate clear, relevant, and effective
communication to students regarding Massey’s wellbeing and safety
services, events, and procedural frameworks. This role ensures that all
students, including distance learners both domestically and
internationally, are informed and supported in accordance with the
Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of
Practice 2021, Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, health and safety
requirements, internal policies, and institutional frameworks.
Key responsibilities include crafting and disseminating timely
communications through appropriate channels, developing resources
that facilitate understanding and access to support services, and fostering
an inclusive environment that prioritizes student wellbeing.
The position demands strong interpersonal and organisational skills,
adeptness in leveraging digital platforms for communication, and a
commitment to promoting a safe and supportive environment for all
students. By championing proactive communication strategies and
fostering a community-wide understanding of wellbeing resources, the
Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the overall student experience
and success at Massey University

through their Massey Experience. This is achieved by ensuring: students
are enabled to achieve; students are engaged with the University and
students are empowered to participate in their community and to grow

Student Wellbeing and Safety forms an integral part of the OSE, the team
offers a range of services to support wellbeing during student’s time at
