Particle Physics Sub-Department Administrator/Executive Assistant
Grade 6: £32,332 - £38,205 per annum
The post is permanent.
Applications are invited for a Sub Department Administrator/Executive Assistant in the subdepartment of Particle Physics.
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Administrator and Executive Assistant to join the Oxford Sub Department of Particle Physics.
The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Head of Particle Physics to ensure the smooth and effective running of the Sub-Department. This is a broad-ranging role that requires the post-holder to deal with academics, research staff, students, senior leaders from other departments or institutions and junior visitors.
They will ensure an effective well-organised administrative function is provided to the entire Sub-Department. They will work closely with the Head of Sub-Department to manage arrangements for visitors in accordance with departmental and University policy. They will ensure that relevant financial records and processes are completed to meet University and departmental requirements. They will work closely with the Physics HR team in all personnel related matters and provide a PA service to the Head of Sub-Department as required.
Applicants should possess excellent oral and written skills in formal and informal contexts and the ability to handle and prioritise a portfolio of responsibilities in a challenging environment to show equally high effectiveness in contributing to planning and in undertaking key operational tasks.
A strong background in Excel and other MS Office applications is necessary.
Previous experience in project management will be an advantage.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate tact, discretion, attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
