Job Description: The Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Mechanical is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality throughout the commissioning process for mechanical systems. This role involves developing and implementing quality management procedures, conducting detailed inspections, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure that mechanical systems are commissioned efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. A Masters degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, quality management, commissioning, with a focus on ensuring high standards of quality and compliance.
  • Skills:
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, commissioning methods, and quality management standards.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Quality Management:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality management plans for the commissioning of mechanical systems.
  • Establish and enforce quality standards, guidelines, and procedures to ensure compliance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct quality audits and inspections to identify and address any deficiencies or non-compliance issues.
  • Commissioning Oversight:
  • Oversee the commissioning process for mechanical systems, ensuring all activities meet quality and safety standards.
  • Develop and manage commissioning checklists, protocols, and documentation.
  • Coordinate and conduct commissioning tests, ensuring all systems are operating as designed and intended.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Provide expert advice and support to project teams on quality management practices and commissioning procedures for mechanical systems.
  • Review and validate mechanical designs, specifications, and installation methods to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Offer solutions and recommendations for complex quality and commissioning challenges.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain comprehensive quality management records, including inspection reports, test results, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed progress reports for stakeholders, highlighting quality metrics, issues, and resolutions.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and accessible for future reference.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify potential quality risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and manage risks throughout the commissioning process to minimize impact on project delivery.
