Substitute Teacher

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide classroom coverage and support to the early learning classrooms at Carroll Childrens Center, Growing Hope Child & Family Development Center and Christ the Teacher Preschool. The role of the substitute teacher is to be available on a daily basis to cover for a classroom position. The substitute teacher makes themselves available by reporting to work each day at 8:00am when the childcare centers are open, regardless of being schedules or not, and ready to work. The substitute teacher supports the classroom team with implementing a developmentally appropriate classroom that supports Children’s language, physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting or performing other work requiring medium physical exertion, talking and hearing and adequate vision on a regular basis to perform the job requirements. These physical demands are required up to 95% of the time.

EDUCATION

• ECE Initial Certificate or CDA, preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE

• 1 years experience working with children in a formal or non-formal setting.

SPECIAL SKILLS

• Preschool/Infant - Toddler Classroom Experience
• Training in Creative Curriculum
• Basic computer skills
