The hybrid working arrangements including which days you are required to work on site/remotely will be outlined by your line manager.

SKILLS

As a minimum requirement you’ll need to be on track to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in either Electronic Engineering, Physics, or Maths.
Knowledge of wave propagation and electromagnetic interference with electronics would be beneficial.
To be considered for this role you must be returning to university to complete your degree.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) concerns the way in which systems are impacted by the electromagnetic environment in which they operate, and the effect of the system upon the electromagnetic environment in which other systems are required to operate.
As a Summer Intern Electromagnetic compatibility engineer, you will be joining a small specialist team of engineers responsible for setting electromagnetic requirements for design teams and undertaking specialist testing of systems, subsystems, and components in out specialist EMC facility to demonstrate and achieve contractual compliance for EMC design.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Specify and manage EMC requirements and acceptance criteria specific to a system, platforms, or programmes.
  • Advising design teams on EMC requirements and design for EMC considerations.
  • Liaising with EMC test engineers to design and specify testing regimes to prove system compliance against relevant standards.
  • Performing and reporting on tests undertaken on systems to demonstrate compliance against relevant standards.
  • Designing and implementing system mitigation to meet EMC standards.
