Looking for a Summer Internship for 2024 in Financial Services? We are offering talented students the opportunity to gain valuable insight and hands-on experience into our business and the role of an Sales & Relationship Management professional.
The opportunity:
The Trade Coverage team provides direct coverage of Liquidnet clients and is responsible for forging client deeper relationships.
This includes learning about each Client’s business and having them utilize Liquidnet products in their workflows. Trade Coverage team makes sure that interactions in the Liquidnet app run smoothly and provide assistance to clients whenever needed. On a daily basis, the team works closely with the regional Trade Coverage team, Execution and Quant Services (EQS) and Analytics to provide the appropriate focus and coverage on our clients.

What you can expect:
The successful candidate will undertake a 12-week internship program dedicated mentorship and support.
You will be involved in the following tasks and areas:

Daily

  • Assist with high touch service on the desk.
  • Work on automated solution in flagging relevant Investment Analytic (IA) signals to client. For example, Incorporating IA, Touchpoint info and Watchlists, market news, delivers the relevant info to client in a timely & concise format.
  • Assist with expanding service / market structure to existing export clients. For example, look into EMEA/ US trends, collaborate with internal teams/ regions to produce reports that we can distribute.
  • Assist with revival of zombie accounts and pipeline. For example, look up historic interactions and look at what’s the best fit with them.
  • Daily morning checks of all HK accounts not logged in and flagging to relevant RM
  • Daily morning checks of most active accounts traded from previous day, largest liquidity providers not traded from previous day and any ‘new’ accounts traded (based on a period of 30 days of inactivity prior)
  • Shadow monitoring of the sales dashboard to learn Front End member trading styles
  • Write end of day wrap on HK Market.
  • Work with team in our Hong Kong office to handle day to day requests for the region.
  • Assist in Mini Projects to improve Efficiency and Functionality on processes & operations.

Weekly

  • Monitoring McLagan wallet versus Liquidnet share of wallet (at client level) and reporting into team gaps & opportunities observed
  • Helping in the preparation of power-point slide packs for weekly client account reviews, TCA and block trade analysis, trading stats etc.
  • Joining all weekly / bi-weekly / monthly internal calls to learn the business and help record takeaways and action items
  • Participate in ad hoc tasks as assigned.

What we require from you:

  • You will be a penultimate year student with an expected graduation date between December 2024 to August 2025.
  • You will be working towards a degree in Finance, Economics, Quantitative Finance, Business or any other Business related discipline.
  • Have a clear interest in global financial markets (particularly equities), Market Structure and Institutional Relationships.
  • Responsible, self-motivated, energetic with solid communication skills
  • Prior exposure to the Microsoft Office suits (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word),
  • Basic knowledge of the Bloomberg Terminal and knowledge in programming (SQL, R, Python etc) would both be preferred.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and presentation skills. Strong language skills in English is required.
